Add a pinch of Viola and a dash of Soprano!

Just a question...

Name your favorite movie and movie soundtrack.

I guess, just a statement, then...

My movies are, because it is impossible to chose just one, The Lion King, The Last Of The Mohicans, Finding Neverland, Amelie, Edward Scissorhands, Running With Scissors...

Soundtracks are bunches.  How To Train Your Dragon, the above stated movie's soundtracks minus Amelie and Running..., The Davinci Code, Stardust (just a few pieces from it, though), Titanic, Chronicles Of Narnia...to name a few.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys better through song!  I believe the music you listen to and the movies you're drawn into are one major piece of our personalities.  Join me in the search for our friend's souls and experience the joys it may bring.

Ice Dance  the sadness of ones consuming love pulls at your heart.
To Die For  this is just simply amazing!  The mix of emotions felt with this song is too much to handle.  Hans Zimmer, enough said.
The Battle  the amazing way this piece flows with it's cinematographic way
Impossible Opening  cheerful childlike innocence with a sharp pain of adult responsibility
Shooting Star  seems to be able to transport you to a place you feel you need to belong
Chevaliers de Sangreal  beautiful harmony
The Sinking   mainly for the staccato cymbals in the beginning and the growing tension.
Forbidden Friendship  by far my latest obsession!
Elk Hunt  this gives you an uncontrollable filling of intense movement and growing anxiety and anticipation, sooo good!

  1. OK so I agree with most of those... except-- Amelie has one of the best soundtracks of all time! Yann Tiersen is the composer. Here is a link to one of my favorite Yann Tiersen tunes:

It kind of cuts off the awesome beginning, but I like the visual in this one. You can tell that Yann loves his piano/accordian way more than he loves that little singer, even though their shared smile at the end is quite touching.

THE soundtrack that got me into movie scores, is the soundtrack to the new "Time Machine" movie by Klaus Badelt (Klaus's first score, and most inspired). My two faves from this movie:

I hope I've made some kind of new Klaus/Tiersen fan out of you haha

  2. Yes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many to name! I love James Newton Howard though he's probably my favorite especially his scores to Lady in the Water, The Village, and I am Legend. I love ALL of the soundtracks listed above but I do listen to How to Train Your Dragon most frequently right now. I also like the Transformers score by Steve Jablonski, he also did The Island which I love. Um... Yann Tiersen yes, very good! Danny Elfman, I like Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman... John Williams, everything! can't even name a few cuz there are so many but Jurassic Park was a very good one. Alan Silvestri, Trevor Rabin, I really like National Treasure lol! Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt (Time Machine), James Horner, A Beautiful Mind, Titanic, Avatar!!! Howard Shore, Jerry Goldsmith, Harry Gregson Willians, Shrek! Rupert Gregson Williams... OH THERE ARE TOO MANY!!! And I hate facebook because they deleted all mine when no one else listed them! grrr

  3. Agreed, agreed! I guess I never really listened to the Amelie soundtrack in full, likey! Likey, likey, likey!

As for Avatar, I wasn't a huge fan of it because of the similarities to Titanic. But I guess that shouldn't be a good reason to not like something. I'll give it another go. Beautiful Mind and The Island and I Am Legend were all amazing, yes. And thank you.
